The Vampire Diaries’ days may be numbered—if one of the show’s main stars doesn’t come around.

The core TVD trio—Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley—have been in talks with the studio, and so far, only two of the three actors have signed on for a seventh season, E! News has learned. The remaining star (either Nina, Ian or Paul) is unsure whether he or she wants to continue, according to multiple inside sources familiar with the talks. (Warner Bros. does not comment on contract negotiations.)

The Vampire Diaries, which launches its sixth season Oct. 2, has been a hugely successful series for the CW, giving the fledgling network in 2009 its highest-rated premiere ever (5.7 million viewers). Season five averaged more than 2 million viewers, which is still pretty strong by CW standards.

If all three main actors (Nina, Ian and Paul) were to sign on for a season seven, the show would have a good shot at a seventh season pickup. We also hear it’s possible that the network would consider continuing the show without all three stars, shifting the focus to some of the other beloved characters.

“I think the show will go as long as the actors want the show to go,” TVD executive producer Julie Plec said during our Comic-Con interview a few weeks ago (see the video below). “You know, look, everybody’s under contract. I know that we’ve got plans for season six, we’ve got plans for season seven. I know that our bosses have plans for seasons eight, nine, and 10. I said I want to be part of it as long as I know I could keep telling good stories and as long as the ensemble people that I work with want to be there and are committed and dedicated. So, so far so good, you know. We’ll see how long we can stay, doing it well. We’ll make sure that we don’t start sucking.”
Plec also revealed that the idea she and Kevin Williamson came up with four years ago for the very last scene of the entire series could still come to fruition.

“The Vampire Diaries” fans are definitely curious as to who the big bad villain will be in the sixth season that follows or even surpasses the evil schemes of Dr. Wes Maxfield (Rick Cosnett) and Traveller leader Markos (Raffi Barsoumian) in TVD Season 5. Executive producer Julie Plec did not reveal who the Mystic Falls gang should watch out for in the new season but teased some details about the new villain.

According to an exclusive E!Online TV Scoop report, Julie Plec teased that the CW TV series will be scaling back when it comes to the new villain instead of topping those that appeared in the past five seasons. “We try to scale back and see if we can keep it really personal and rooted in character,” Plec explained.

Plec further added that the storyline on the big bad villain in “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6 is going to be a long and slow-burn mythology. The executive producer teased that the new mythology will have a huge and deep impact on the TVD characters. “It’s smart and it’s interesting and it’s small, which I like. We try to scale back and see if we can keep it really personal and rooted in character,” Plec teased.

With the new details on “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6 villain, a Wet Paint report speculates new character Tripp (Colin Ferguson) could be the new season’s big bad villain. However, the report also pointed out that Tripp could be a short-term obstacle to the Mystic Falls gangs especially if the man becomes a father figure to Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig).

When E!Online asked Julie Plec for new details on the possible Damon-Elena or “Delena” reunion, the executive producer remained tight-lipped. In a previous report, what Julie Plec teased is the Damon-Bonnie pairing that will happen in “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6 since the two TVD characters bonded in the fifth season’s finale when the Other Side collapsed.

“To me, in spite of what [Bonnie and Damon] had in the books, that kind of relationship would only be born out of chemistry, and an on-screen connection,” Plec stated in an Epoch Times report. The executive producer added that there could be instant chemistry between Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) comparable to the Klaus-Caroline or “Klaroline” pairing.

Plec declared that the TVD team wanted to repair Damon and Bonnie’s relationship from the book and give the two characters a chance to become friends. Julie Plec teased that the “Bamon” relationship will start from there and it may never develop into something else but no one really knows.

“The Vampire Diaries” Season 6 is scheduled to premiere on Thursday night, Oct. 2, at 8/7c on the CW Network.

As you know this amazing show has been on for 6 years now! So there is a lot that has to be added! I am working as fast and hard as I can on all the older stuff so I can get started on the newer. So I am looking for someone that knows WordPress and coppermine gallery to help out! This will be a big project but with some help we can make this an amazing resource for TVD. If you’d like to help out please email me at admin@tvdsource.com

Welcome to TVD Source! We are your newest source for everything TVD, We have been hard at work setting up the site with everything you will ever need!! We still have a ways to go but we are almost done with the pages! We plan to open the TVD Source Gallery by the end of the week so stay tuned!

The 2014 TCAs marked another crackerjack occasion for our favorite vampire drama series (we don’t mean it, The Originals!). TVD came away with four wins, in the following categories:

Choice TV Show: Fantasy/Sci-Fi: The Vampire Diaries
Choice TV Actor: Sci-Fi/Fantasy: Ian Somerhalder
Choice TV Actress: Sci-Fi/Fantasy: Nina Dobrev
Choice TV Female Scene Stealer: Candice Accola

Impressed? Surprised? Overjoyed? For our part, we are glad to see that TVD still has the fan support. As enormous fans, we’re only too aware of the decline in ratings TVD suffered this past season. Though it remains one of the highest rated shows on The CW — and the highest rated show in the key demo — it’s fan base is flagging. Reminders of its popularity are much appreciated. Curbs our TV-cancellation anxieties.
As for the individual acting awards, we wish everyone on this stellar cast could get one. We’re especially glad to see that Nina Dobrev has picked up another surfboard. Not that she isn’t deserving every season, but in Season 5 she particularly earned it with her portrayal of three separate characters — notably, once all together in one scene. And don’t even get us started on her ever-impressive ugly-crying in the final moments of the Season 5 finale. We still tear up just thinking about that Delena goodbye scene.
Are you as excited as we are to see TVD take home these awards? Are there any actors you felt should have received the surfboards instead? Sound off in the comments below!

The latest “The Vampire Diaries” season 6 spoilers revealed that Damon and Elena will be apart and will have new love interests.

In the last episode of “The Vampire Diaries” season 5, many fans shed tears as Damon and Bonnie have gone to The Other Side after the success of Project Kaboom. The whereabouts of the two are still unknown. Avid viewers were hoping that Damon and Bonnie were not dead and will be back next season.

But this hope was denied by the “The Vampire Diaries” writer and producer Julie Plec who said that Damon and Bonnie who disappeared to The Other Side will never come back, although she did not confirm whether the two were dead. With Damon not coming back, Elena will be left on her own.

However, Hollywood Hills reported that Damon & Bonnie may develop a romance next season, hinting that they may still appear somehow next season. The closeness of Damon and Bonnie was seen at the recent San Diego Comic Con.

Elena, on the other hand, will be working as an intern at the Whitmore Medical Center where she will be able to show off her skills, according to Spoiler TV. She will work under Dr. Jo Robles who will be played by Jodi Lyn O’Keefe.

Elena will also be a love interest for Alaric, although not immediately. It is believed that Elena will grieve the loss of her lover first. The panel at the recent San Diego Comic Con, especially the executive producer, confirmed that Elena and Stefan will not rekindle their old flame. Stefan will not be involved in a relationship as he, too, is grieving for the loss of his brother. Thus, it seemed that Elena will be alone for a while.

“The Vampire Diaries” season 6 will be back on air on Oct. 2 at 8/7 on The CW.
